Hi: Haven't been here in years and it's nice to be back. Lack of space has always been a problem for me. I've been considering a ceiling track in a 12x12 space but the amount of work involved to make it happen is daunting. So I was wondering if anyone has made a roller stand not just for the locomotive but for the whole train. Basically I'm thinking it would be an 8 foot track shelf with roller stand in the locomotive section. The cars would be able to light up as well. Anyone have any pics? Here's the roller stand section I was thinking about making: https://youtu.be/fQJZOMfYM3A

Thanks!

Wanna' do it the easy way?

Put a piece of track on the shelf in question and power it.  Put four screws between the ties  under the locomotive to suspend it about 1/16" above the rails.  Hidden out of sight, run a ground wire to the frame for the outside rails.

My York display for my Super-Chuffer demo is done that way, the engine looks like it's on the rail, and you can run it like you normally would, it just doesn't go anywhere.
