Question on Z1000 switch controller indicator lights. They read exactly opposite of what they should indicate. I carefully switched them, then they both came on. I tried switching red/green leads and both lights went out. Are the indicator lights pole specific, that is must they go in one way only, are they thus going in a rectified socket? I cannot get the lights to correspond to turnout conditions. Thanks.

Make sure you align the flat spots on each LED going into the controller.
Oh, these are on Ross switches.
Yes. Pole specific.
I have several. The simplest method is to use a needle-nosed plier and switch the indicator lights. You have to get them seated exactly right for them to light. That is...if you have the works wired correctly. Most likely, all you need to do is try again.

Note the flat spot bottom of the red LED. There is a similar flat spot green LED, not shown.
Flat spots? Not just the two prongs?
Yes, they are polarized (LED's). R (right) is toward the wires, L (Left) is away from the wires. It is confusing at first, but the power to the switch is AC and lights are DC. Either red or green lights can be in the Right or Left.

If you look real carefully at the switch motors, you'll see that the hole in the motor housing has a flat spot. Line that up with the flat spot on the LED. You'll need your reading glasses.
Thanking you for the help. I understand there is a flat spot on one side of bulb. I will look for it, When I find it, which way should it face? (Can't see in picture) The bulb is good on the controller, staying lighted fine after I switched them. The switch machine light flashes while the button is being depressed then goes out for both red and green indications. I have this occurring on other layout switches. Could it be the flat spot problem you think? Otherwise the wiring is quite simple: green to green, red to red, one middle lead to ground, the other to 14v.
Ah, I see, thanks all, I will go over all my switches with this new found knowledge.
A better picture of the DZ 1000 switch control. Flat left of green LED, right of red LED.
If you are also using the buttons to activate the DZ1000 you may also need to switch those LEDs also.
