I have found it very inconvenient running jumper wires from the center rail to all branches of a switch. Gargraves use to pre-wire their switches but stopped in 2006. Just received a set of Ross Switches and low and behold a bus bar type conntection joined all the center rails together. This is just another big plus from a great manufacturer that still produces high quality American made products. You just can't go wrong with their switches.

I sent an email to Mike at Garagraves ( also use their products) and apparently they have no interest going back to pre-wired switches. They make excellent products as well but on a large layout the 15-30 minutes that it takes to wire each switch can end up being considerably more work. At this point I'd rather purchase up to Ross than spend the extra work wiring.

If you have the same concerns that I do, be sure to email Gargraves and let them know. Maybe popular demand will convince them to add the convenient pre-wire step.

The basic Ross Switch is not prewired either. What Ross Terms " Ross Ready" is prewired as Dennis describes . If you purchase the turnout with a Z stuff switch machine, it is furnished with the jumper installed. If you buy it as I did as a basic Ross switch with a manual throw, it is not prewired. My preference is to use the turnout as a point to establish track blocks so not having the prewire is an advantage to me. The nice thing about the Ross switch is you can get it as you like it wiring wise for your layout.
