I am getting ready to build an engine yard with a transfer table and 8 sidings. Does anyone have a recommendation for a rotary switch that you have had success with? There are a lot of choices and price ranges out there. I plan on running it through DCS based on Barry's article from Run 236. Thanks for your help. Rog

I've used Demar a lot over the years and have had good service. If I had any questions I just sent them an email and always got good advice from them. For toggle switches their prices can't be beat. I have used their rotaries as well but I can't verify if it would work for your application but like I said drop them an email and they will let you know if it would work. Nice folks. Russ
Hi Rog, if Demar dose not work for you try McMaster-Carr www.mcmaster.com
I used their 2 Amp @ 125V 8 position Rotary SWitch at $12.84 each,(6548K21). It's driving a relay bank but it should be fine if all you are going to use it on are engines at slow speed. I doubt very much if you would ever draw more then an amp in a turn table operation.
But they do have larger switches if you feel you need one.
Good Luck.
I use a pair of SP 12 position rotary switches for powering yard tracks and turntable tracks. They are rated 4 amps @ 12volts, 2 amps @ 24 volts.
They were in my surplus parts bin and work just great. I can't just recall the model no at present.

Thanks guys. I talked with John at Demar electronics and he set me up with what I need. I appreciate your help. Rog
