I was given Legacy for Christmas this year. Yeah! However, I am currently running Lionel with my MTH remote and a TMCC base. I am wondering how to combine all this and still maintain my DCS control over Lionel and still allow the use of the CAB1/Legacy remotes simultaneously. My thought was to put the TMCC base in a passive situation. Any advice/thoughts?

Cheryl,
In reality this is quite easy, use the Cable that connects your DCS TIU to the 990 Legacy base, then run your Legacy Base Wire Drop, to the opposite outside rail that your DCS is dropped to. Then run another drop from your 990 Legacy to every out Black Channel of your DCS TIU. This sets up a dual Legacy signal feed to your Legacy Engines and everything can also be controlled by your DCS Hand Held remote, and your Legacy Cab2.
Reference Barry's DCS O Gauge Companion for the numbers on the DCS TIU/990 Legacy Base Cable, don't remember the cable numbers off the top of my head.
Have fun

Dave,
Thanks for your reply. Will this still allow me to use the CAB1 remote?
No I believe you need a Y cable that goes from the TIU and splits into the TMCC base & Legacy base.. ( Only 1 U base connection can be used.)
It'll be in the DCS book by Super guru B Broskowitz.
Cheryl,
Reference the DCS Companion 3rd Edition, page 126, Figure 40 Wiring for TMCC/Legacy Operation Using the TMCC and Legacy Cab1L Command Bases, to see exactly how to wire for both command bases. Res are to only connect the Legacy bases's "one wire"to the layout and disconnect the "one wire" from the TMCC base.
This will allow use of all 3 remotes: DCS, Cab-1 and Cab-2.
Cheryl,
Barry just gave you the exact page in his DCS O Gauge Companion to reference the exact Cable required to set up all the remotes, DCS, TMCC & Legacy, it works perfectly!
