We are nearing completion laying track and installing the electronics to begin running trains again for the public. At this point, I'm planning to start by Saturday, May 21st.
We have 8 independent loops of track down, the longest being a couple hundred feet, and two more to go. I have a few bridges I need to finish once I find the box of bridge abutments and then we are ready to start testing.
We moved all the retail merchandise to our second building at 177 W Main Street so we could use all of this space for the layout. It's 56' long and nearly 40' wide. It's really coming together!
We have a lot of scenery work to do - and a lot of ballasting. We are planning a scenery workshop soon - more on that!
We don't have anywhere enough building flats for covering the 56' length of the back wall, so I have started making some additional flats out of Korber, DPM and Ameritowne walls.
We have pulled over 1000' of wire so far for powering the track, and Jeff has upgraded all 4 of our TIU's to DCS Release 6.0. We will be installing the additional WIU's to bring the layout up for WiFi running. We will have three loops set up so that the guests can run trains on their own smart phone or tablet.
Here's a terrific video we shot last June right before Rich Melvin came to video the layout and we started taking it down.
Right in the beginning is the MTH Premier Union Pacific FEF pulling steel reefers. I still have two of these sets left in stock for $959.96 - that's almost $400 off MSRP. You can find them here!
I have 5 of the Niagara's left that are featured in the video - and the NYC Streamlined passenger cars. Road number 6014 is here and Road number 6022 is here. Save $240 - I have them marked down to $959.96 each.
The PRR Y-3 shown is also in stock. It's marked down $330 to $1159.96. You can find it here!
I also have a N&W version, same price, one left, you can find it here and the B&O Version, you can find it here, and one Denver and Rio Grande version left, you can find it here. All $330 off.
