I recently purchased a Lionel PRR Lionchief GP38 and eventually may purchase another PRR edition.

This may be a silly question, but as both will be using the same frequency from the remote, will there be any issue?  I would turn down the sound on one unit so there is no doubling up of sound.

My reason for asking is that I’ve heard that typically the RTR locos can top out at pulling 10 cars.  If I wanted to run a longer train (at my club for example) and not have wheel slippage, I would want to have 2 locomotives.

Thanks.

Are you talking about Lionchief or Lionchief Plus? I didn't think the plain Lionchief engines were available for separate sale.

My Lionchief Plus RS-3 will pull more cars than I can use, beyond about 15 it pulls the cars off the O-36 curves. Can't imagine any problem at all with 10 cars, not with slippage, at least.

Don't know about the plain Lionchief locos sold in the RTR sets.

PLCProf, it is a LionChief.

I purchased the GP38 from a set breakup on eBay from one of the sellers that breaks up RTR sets and sells the units separately.
