I purchased a pair of PWC Texas Special A units recently.  Both run fine individually, although initially one is much slower than the other. But I am now questioning how to run them back to back.  Reading a topic c.sam started back in 2013, I am questioning whether they were intended to be in the same set.  I have no B unit.  I am new to TMCC, having only these and a TMCC equipped K-Line 0-4-0 that runs fine.  Also, I am happy with not having a B unit.  These look great in front of my Williams 4-car set, and that is all I want.  So my question isn't the same as c.sam's back in 2013.  I got a great deal, but there was no box or instructions that came with the A units

This is the topic c.sam started. PWC AB Texas Special

Thank you very much for any responses.

Mark,

Congratulations, they'll look great pulling those TS passenger cars. If they are both powered A units  you'll have to create a "train" so they will work in unison. Here's the TMCC manual, it should tell you how to build a train.

If I've missed something I'm sure others will chime in.

If I remember correctly, the set was a powered A and a non-powered B, then separate sale powered A and powered B units were produced.

EZMike,

Build a train!  Yes, that sounds like what I want to do!  A lash up, or in steam terms, double head.  Yes, and my train will have the second A unit running in reverse hen the first one is running forward.  Thank you for,the link to the proper manual.  I am not that familiar with Lionel's web site, and didn't find it.  All my other engines are MTH.

Everyone who commented,

Wow, it's been longer than I thought. I did get the consist working great. I do appreciate greatly the manual. It worked for me on my second try. Then I moved it from my Christmas layout to reconfigure it for the rest of the year. So I moved it to my Ceiling Central RR that I finished the last shelf on a couple weeks ago. There, it acted odd. I think I have a track and wire issue there that is affecting a couple engines, the TS being one. So I was waiting until I got it back on the Christmas layout to make sure. Now that it took so long, I should have reported it worked right off.

Sorry to not get back to you on it. I do appreciate it.
Thank you,
Mark
