San Francisco Father's Day Traction

We were out near the end of May for our son's graduation. Rode a lot of streetcars. It is nice that they have a little bit of history on each one mounted inside the cars.

SF is an amazing city. We walked all the way down the steps from Coit Tower to Fisherman's Wharf in the dark. It is so steep that I just don't know how people in the houses built along those steps can carry their groceries home. Must have a parking space that we couldn't see in the dark.

Nice!!!!  I am envious.  Last time I was in SF was the summer of 2010.  We spent most of our time around Fisherman's Wharf.  Love what they've done with the PCC cars.  Also visited Alcatraz, biked across the Golden Gate bridge, and visited Monterrey - luckily arriving for the annual car show!!!!

Just love San Francisco.

My favorite American city...for the cable cars, for the many different trolleys and PCCs, and for the food.

You are so lucky.I wish those cable cars and streetcars were only 15 minutes away from me.

And the best part about the streetcars is for $2 you can ride almost all day! You do have to get off at the end of the line and get back on at the next boarding stop, but, that is true of the buses also.

The first we went to SF, we got on the right bus route, but, going in the wrong direction. We rode until the bus stopped at where it starts its loop in the other direction. The driver made us get off the bus and walk to the next stop which was just a few steps around the corner to get back on.

Same thing with the streetcars down on Fisherman's Wharf. You have to get off the down car here and walk a couple of blocks over to get back on a car going uptown.
