I think this would qualify as a real train.  It's just a small steamer.  Last Sunday we took our three granddaughters...Ally, Sophie and Julia...to the San Francisco Zoo.  Of course, Mom and Dad came also.  Mamo and Gramps had a lot of fun with the grandkids!  Besides seeing all of the animals, we rode the SF Zoo RR.  It winds around part of the zoo grounds.  It was a fun little train ride!

Ah yes, the SF Zoo Class E Cagney, 22 inch gauge.  I think they have photo documentation that this locomotive existed in California as far back as 1908, and it is very likely that it is one of the Class E's built back in 1904.  At any rate, it is a 100+ year old steam locomotive, built and used for commercial service, still earning its keep hauling passengers.  I realize that some would look down their nose at the smaller steamers like this, but I think they are due every bit as much respect as their full-size brethren.
