I have never cut apart and remade body's on train cars. I am wondering what I can use as filler before priming and painting? Like doing body work on A car but for on plastic. Thanks for any help. Choo Choo Kenny

My favorite is Tamiya putty. It's available at most hooby shops that sell plastic models. Hobby Lobby carries it too.
I also use Red Spot 3M but it's more than you will use in a life time and cost more....but works as well.
For fiberglass or balsa RC boats we used a filler called microballoons.

Great for when weight is a major concern for sure. New users please wear a mask of some type as Microballons are easy to inhale.
I also use Tamiya putty for plastic. It is way superior to the Testors product. I use JB Weld for metal, or for very large jobs or if there is a need for extra strength.
Bondo Spot Putty works for me.
I've used Bondo auto body putty and spot putty(I had some laying around) with good results.
I use Squadron brand white putty or Bondo glazing putty. Both are just about the same except for the color. Squadron comes in white or green and Bondo is red. Both dry quickly and give me great results.
