Loren B. Joplin has compiled, organized and published what I consider to be the absolute best resource for information pertaining to Santa Fe passenger trains.

The list includes ALL the famous named trains, Chief, Super Chief, El Capitan, Grand Canyon, San Francisco Chief just to name a few.

You can see all the consist (date specific) as well as engine assignments. This is the same site that I learned about the directional requirements for the Lounge and Diner cars that I posted in the El Cap Step-Down thread.

I could tell you a lot more but I don't want to spoil the fun you will have exploring this site.

I met you last year either at iHobby or Trainfest.   I was running "my version" of the Super Chief and you asked me a specific question about Santa Fe passenger cars.  You wanted to know the color of the window shades.  Well believe it or not, this morning while surfing the net for more information on Santa Fe passenger cars I came across 100% reliable information (builder specs.) that state the window shades were fabric and the color was Frost Walnut.

The documentation was from the early to mid 50's and was in black and white.  Sorry, no color samples.  Hope that helps you in some small way.

Maybe you can go to Home Depot and as them to mixup a quart of Frost Walnut.
