News reports today advise that "Game of Thrones" author George R.R. Martin and two co-investors have purchased an abandoned, 18-mile part of the Santa Fe railroad at Lamay, New Mexico.  Purchase includes a station, track, and old engines/passenger cars.  The group's intention is to restore the site and open it for a tourist site.

That's the branch to the ATSF's namesake town, Santa Fe, NM. The name of of the junction is Lamy (no second "a").

The line operated from 1992 to 2014 as the Santa Fe Southern Railway, after being sold off by the ATSF.
