Hi all,
I'm having an odd issue that I wonder if anyone else has encountered. (I searched the forum and googled it and didn't find anything.)
I use an SC-2 on my small layout, which is controlled by a Cab-1L/Base-1L and Legacy Powermaster. The SC-2 controls 6 DZ-1000 switch motors on Gargraves switches. It runs 5 of them perfectly.
On SW 1, however, it continues to send power to one side of the switch motor even after it's been flipped the other way. At first I thought it was the switch motor, but I tried a different DZ-1000 and the same thing still happened. I also checked all wiring between the switch and the SC-2, and it's fine.
What SEEMS to be happening is that one side of the SC-2 relay is not disengaging completely. A little bit of power - not enough to smoothly throw the switch, but enough for it to buzz and slowly move the motor - is flowing through the SC-2 when it's in one position, even though no button on the Cab-1L is being pressed.
Has anyone had a problem like this? FYI I have the SC-2 mounted vertically. Should it be mounted flat? Again, the other 5 switches all work great.
Thanks for your help,
Alan P
