As Marty, I can vouch for the scale length 3rd Rail Brass RDC-1's. They make everything else look like silver-painted lunch boxes. I have a Pennsylvania Reading Seashore Lines powered and unpowered pair, which look and run great. The low profile power truck design permitted the fitting of a flat floor and full length interior to the units. The only caution one might suggest is that the low gloss coating applied over the nickel plating can lift/peal in spots on some samples. This is pretty easy to touch up, however. What may be important for you there in beautiful Lansdale is that Reading versions were made.

But, RDC-1's only from Third Rail, despite my pleading for RDC-3's...gonna have to kitbash one..and hope it doesn't turn out looking like one of those silver lunchboxes cited above.
K-Line once promised trditional length aluminum-bodied models once, but not enough orders.
