Is there an adhesive for painted Homasote that is suitable to attach figures, trees, etc. to the surface? I would prefer an adhesive that is removable, somewhat like the gummy substance that comes with some packaged material. In this regard, I would like to be able to remove and replace different scenic items over time without damaging the Homasote. As always, thanks for the help!

For trees I took a small pointed punch made a hole and a drop of white glue and if I wanted to remove the tree a little drop of water and pull out the tree. For figures I read somewhere on this forum about using a small pin in the base or leg and then sticking that in the homestead no glue required.
Try plumber's putty, one jar is enough to replant the Amazon! Put a small dot on the bottom of the base, trim excess.
For figures or trees with bases, use Museum Wax - it's made for that purpose and is available in a small jar that should last a lifetime on Amazon.
Aileen's tacky adhesive, avaiable at Michael's Crafts. I use it where ever removal is a concern. Hold tight, removes clean,
Weight it overnight and it is good to go. Have used a spackle knife to remove track held down with it. Comes up clean. Dries invisible.
A tiny dot of the stuff holds hatch covers that have come loose on plastic cars.

RJT, Bill, Richie, and Tommy,
Thanks to each of you for the excellent suggestions! All of them are very helpful. Also Tommy's photos provide excellent step-by-step instruction.
I also enjoyed how "Amazon" figured prominently in sequential posts, graphically illustrating the vast nature of two wildly different connotations for the word!
Thanks again.
