Scenic Express Inclines with O Gauge Track

Has anyone used Scenic Express inclines with O gauge track? The inclines are 2 1/2 inches wide which is the width of the Atlas track I'm using - this eliminates any extra space between the track and the edge of the incline - is there a way to extend the width of the incline without having to double them up?

Also, what is the best trackbed to use on the incline? I've been using cork trackbed on my layout - should I continue hot glueing the cork on the incline?
