Got all pumped up to ride the Santa Fe Southern in NM! But, no, out of business since 2014. Going West to Tahoe, Reno, Salt Lake City, and after hitting the National Park circuit in Utah, end up in SF/Albuquerque. Anybody point to a scenic RR in any of those cities? Thanks.

Are you planning to ride the Cumbres and Toltec?
Thank you. Sounds good. Will discuss with Internal Affairs when she gets home.🤔
Maybe this will help: Historic & Scenic Colorado Trains | Colorado.com I also saw this, though I know nothing about it. It does get good reviews: Heber Valley Railroad – Great Experiences Await (hebervalleyrr.org)
Thanx to you both! We booked the Heber Valley RR, as it’s closest to where we’ll be staying.
Check out Virginia and Truckee near Reno.
Will do, thanks.
Perhaps not on your route, but you might check out Nevada Northern in Ely, NV. I haven't been there, but they say it's the East Broadtop of the West.

In Utah besides the Heber RR there is also the following:
Ogden Union Station - There is a UP FEF, DD40AX, Big Blow Turbine, and others.

Golden Spike Historic Park - Operating Juipter & 119 remakes - check the times for operating hours.
