Thinking outside of the box - er can? 

I made some quick water towers from Japanese tooth picks and toilet paper holders. The stands is made of poly styrene.

Nice job on the Water Tower. But I like to know more about the Train EL, Structure ?

Thank you Wild Mary.  My post was just an opinion,  you can have fun and obtain results by being creative with your build. You don't have to be limited by what is sold on the market. Possibly Gene was just expressing the same view. A couple of pictures would have sufficed though.   

I often say that Model Railroading is the greenest of hobbies. We never throw our trash away. We just put it on our layouts!!!!

Nice work Jackie! Very creative. In the spirit of Jackie's post, maybe someone can start a thread just for this subject, and everyone can chime in with their own home made ideas. I think all of us would benefit.
