Searchlight Car 3520 - newer version ??? 72-6768-250 and 494 rotating beacon.

Hi All,

I've never owned a 3520 searchlight car, but found one and its on its way. I've also checked out buying a 494 rotating beacon - haven't owned one of these either. I have checkout out the useful myriad of info for the 3520 on the Forum which, as usual, is awesome.

I did find this: https://www.lionelsupport.com/...ents/72-6768-250.pdf Can someone help with more info on this version? Likely it is on the Forum, but I've failed to find it.

Any addition help/tips/tricks on these rotating items is appreciated.

I'm running TMCC btw - 16-18V

What do you want to know? They all work the same way. If you want a beacon that actually rotates make sure you buy the 494 version.

+1 on the 494...I just couldn't get the 394 to operate reliably regardless of voltage, calm winds, or louvre positioning, and ended up making it a nice water tower.

I will say 16-18 volts gets it spinning pretty fast. I run mine at 11 volts, and it returns a prototypical (for an airport) six rpm.
