Nice job...if I had the room I would like to do something like that....I  built a switch box to cover the wires and a circular ware house to cover 3 switch machines.

Brings up another option - covering ITADS. I have built some custom 'electrical' sheds, cut out holes for the ITAD sensor and placed over the ITAD. I also found a great tool shed from Grandt Line that also works.

The smaller shed is the Z-Stuff sensors.

I’m building my first layout and have two ITADs.  I’m time limited and intimidated when it comes to model building. 

Has anyone used the paper cut outs successfully?

or are their small premade  structures you can suggest?

I've done some work with printed scenery. Not difficult at all. Everything is mounted to cereal box cardboard with white glue. If you mess it up, print another sheet of the image and eat more cereal.

The roof on the freight depot is paper, so is the stone wall.

I will have 10 switch motors, so it is nice to see all of the varieties.  I guess I will try to go with the smallest solutions possible.  I really like that Grandt tool shed

Fantastic idea. I'm going to have several of these on my layout and was worried how it would look. Do they work as well with the cover?

I saw this older thread and thought to add .. I just got some  red switchman (without the shed, that has a flag instead of a lantern.  air tank  plastic covers)

I painted them and used double sided foam tape to install..

I thought about other ways, but wanted as low a profile I could find .

Dave - sorry I did not get a notice for this post - actually found it by accident. You need a cut out for the detector to work. I'm not sure why I showed the building on the left other than to show the back side. Probably the easist thing to do is buy the Grandt Line shed and cut a hole in it.
