I picked up a TW at the WVMRC Railroad show and swap meet. lots of questions just go with what I could find on a budget. Sure cleared up the U36B's issues on the first run using it. I found the wiring diagrams , so it is the revised no B terminal version. I got it correcting hooked up using the A post as the common instead of the U post. How do I select the voltage using the terminals for the second core? I finding it a head scratcher from my lack of experience.

A-U gives you variable voltage for running trains. A-D, A-E, A-F Will give you various fixed voltages powered by the second core. I'm not sure what the A-C connection gives, but it is powered by the first core. Be aware you can pull no more than 4.5 to 5 amps from either core.

PS Search on "TW transformer". There was another thread recently on this transformer that went into more detail.
The terminal posts are clearly labeled as to their voltages, see here.
A-C is 18 volts
A-D is 14 volts
E-F is 14 volts

Looks like you got your question answered but here's a scan of the operating instructions just in case.
