The Standard Gauge Module Association had a 40’x40 eight track display at the World’s Greatest Hobby on Tour show February 8&9. Great trains and great fellowship!

Really cool. I love those silver ties on your upper loop.
Congratulations all on a great looking display! Wish I could have been there.

Kirk,
As you know, the "correct" locomotive for that beautiful consist would be one of THE MILWAUKEE ROAD's streamlined and powerful HIAWATHA locomotives. Hopefully, next time I'll be able to bring one. Looks like everyone had a great time! Wish I had been there!

Great show
Craig, what is that engine in this video?
Will,
That is Stomper, it’s owned by a club member.

You coming out to Pomona in August?. I think that show will be there first of Aug.
I might drive up. But the 5 traffic is nuts. Once it was a nice drive.
I would actually consider flying out if we had an active Standard Gauge Module Association group in California. Come on California guys, get busy, build some modules, and join the fun!

Very impressive!
The Milwaukee Road ran similar trains but with hoppers full of "orange" iron ore:

from the mines in the Upper Peninsula to Milwaukee Road's iron ore dock in Escanaba, MI.
Some day I will have to run my Milwaukee Road iron ore train at a SGMA show.

You'll have to get with Steve Eastman - he and his buddies do their own form of module - a bunch of plywood sheets. They show often and really run some trains.
Jim
I appreciate that Steve and his buddies are promoting the hobby of operating tinplate toy trains, but modules offer so much more than tracks on a sheet of plywood. Now that Chris and I have our basic modules finished, we are looking forward to detailing each to the quality of our elevated station complex. The "Wow!" factor comes from a combination of trains and accessories. Our old ravine modules show that detailed scenery also works well with tinplate. (Now we just need to do it with lighter materials!)
