I've see a discussion where there are 3 differences between these two engines. The primary difference are the better wheels on the Shakespeare. My questions are 1) Are the engine bodies identical and 2) are the passenger cars identical except for the colors? Thank you!

The passenger cars have metal trucks of the same mold. The head light is in a different spot and there is a different whistle.

Hello to all. I'm looking for a shakespeare set. Does anyone know who has one for sale? Also does it have an English sounding air whistle/horn. thanks. waynew

The Shakespeare set is far the better with metal trucks on the coaches & the tender,the whistle is an improvement but not great.

Have not seen any around for sale in quite a while bought my last one last year for $300 post paid to the UK.

The Shakespeare locomotive is excellent. I think the whistle is just fine.

I pull Hornby Great Western coaches with them using an old Lionel

1940s transition coupler and it looks great. See the photo attached.
