I know you can’t use the same address, not saying it did, and I wouldn’t know how it would but,  DCS did it all on its own. I deleted both units, then added them again. So when I go to pull up, say unit 2, unit 1 comes up. When you pull up unit 1, that unit comes up. It acts like unit 2 has been given the same address as unit 1. Hope that’s not to confusing.

#1 Deleting the engine from a remote or app instance does NOT reset the engine!!!!

#2 Both the remote or app instance AND the engine during the add engine process negotiate and agree upon either using the existing ID the engine was previously programmed to (provided that ID is free in the app or remote) or the next open slot in the remote or app database.

You need to use reset to factory defaults and that resets the engine ID in the engine, and then deleted the engine in the remote database.

For those who do want two engines to have the same ID, it can be done by adding the first engine and assigning it the ID you want. Power down the track and replace the first engine with the second engine. Delete the first engine from your DCS remote / App. Power up your track add the second engine and ensure you assign it the same id as the first engine you just deleted. Now both engines have the same ID assigned internally.

I do this in special cases where I have identical engines but know that I won't run them at the same time with the same DCS system.
