Shelf couplersand ground throw switchstands in O Guage

I'm NEW to O guage and have purchased some freight cars. I've been in HO for 30+ years.Am looking at O scale&see that there's an absence of "shelf couplers." These are used on modern equipment,with a lower safety shelf on most standard freight equipment&locomotives&double shelf couplers on tank cars or other hazardous or expensive freight equipment. I've only seen double shelf couplers on 4 bay covered hoppers except for the tankers. I'm disappointed at this absence. Also I thought with the increase in size in o scale,ground throw switchstands with rotating targets that turn when the throw arm is thrown,would be available in O scale but no such luck. Does anyone else but me notice these absences? Thanks,Al
