Maybe lower 48 applies to free shipping offers? I noticed the new holiday Dell ads with the piano player singing about free shipping only shows the continental US.

I think he's talking about the buy/sell forum, not some of the forum sponsors that offer free shipping.
Back when I sold on eBay, I narrowed my shipping region to Continental 48 because it was less of a hassle. I had several buyers who either complained about the extra shipping costs, or didn't realize that it would take a while for the package to arrive and start fracking out on me two days after the auction closed.
Im sure there were plenty of good people that were affected by my decision, but in the end I had to do what I was comfortable with.
I'am with you Tom M...i will ship anywhere,it's up to the buyer....joe
Have had a few interesting ones. Shipped 10 large passenger cars to HI, was able to get some cardboard and combine the boxes into one master box. Buyer was ecstatic for the effort to lower his costs and they got there faster than a shipment to the west coast 'cause UPS there is all by air I guess.
Package to Belgium, USPS wouldn't insure over like $700 and UPS was over $200 so buyer emailed they would eat the loss if lost and to use postal service.
Can see "Lower 48" if free shipping as anything else is a real unknown.
Many years ago I sold a large amount of real nice Lionel T rail track to a fellow in Mexico. It was an Ebay auction and we cut a deal to add more to the original lot. He was a very nice (and quite well off) man. He instructed me in all the details of how he wanted it shipped. Long story short, he wanted to beat some fees and it took 4-5 weeks. I was getting nervous. I even videoed me packing and taking to the PO. Pics sent showing all the receipts. I made a very nice profit but I'll never do that again.
I also got stiffed on a purchase from Canada.
I'm too lazy to ship anything anywhere these days. I have a ton of stuff that needs to go but it either happens at a York get together or through a meeting in person.
