Just want to say thanks to you guys on the TMCC forum.
In a few short years since I got into this hobby, I have yet to need to send an engine in for repair.
Learned a few lessons, non too expensive and have managed to resurrect those unfortunate victims/patients also.
I really know very little about electronics, and am more of a mechanic who follows instructions well.
Last night after properly installing my smoke resister in my new Scale Bershire, I repaired my reciever board and replaced the defective(LOL damaged due to operator ignorance)
Still a second one this Am in record time. all thanks to GRJ posting photos, part numbers and precise instructions right domenic to how he removes the bad three legged one from the board. I have replaced voltage regulators on fan driven units, added smoke to diesels, installed TMCC upgrades, and made other suggested improvements. Next I want to install one of those John's new Chuffer boards in an upgraded Railking camelback with TAS command and constant fan smoke. No idea where to start so I guess it is time to do the research. LOL.
Now I confidently buy used stuff knowing that most of this stuff is easily and inexpensively repaired or upgraded.
Thanks again to all.
Plus technical challenges keep me from wasting time on the "what can we argue about today forum, even if we just argued about it last week?"
Lol
