Very nice consist in that set. Having the powered and dummy engine is a good idea. If you ever plan to convert it to TMCC/Railsounds 5 the 2 units need to be tethered because all the boards and the speaker will not quite fit in just the powered unit.

Actually, both locomotives are powered.  The "trailing" AC unit is reverse wired for back-to-back running.

I just ordered a DL&W E8 AA set with dual headlights in scale wheels with the matching 5 car heavyweight set. My first venture into S scale, going to install ESU Loksound with dual super bass speakers in each A unit. Add LED headlight, mars light and number board lights if possible, any one have a choice on scale S track.

Pete, Don't know if you saw this previous post, but it outlines another installation using an ESU Loksound decoder paired with a Tang Band speaker for some really good bass sound.

Well, the E8 number boards are painted black with white printing, I don't think there would be any advantage to illuminating them.

The headlights are already LED's, so you're halfway there and there's plenty of room to install the ESU electronics.

As to track, If your going to do something temporary, I would suggest either Lionel S FasTrack or MTH(SHS) S-Trax with R27 curves.  To be fair, although S FasTrack is reported to be nosier, it's likely more available than S-Trax.

For something more permanent , I would suggests Fox Valley's track.  Rail height is compatible with both FastTrack and S-Trax.

Beware, I have had more failure than success in using scale wheels through FastTrack turnouts.

Thank You to everyone who responded, I am still waiting on usps to deliver the box. It went MIA after it's last scan on 12-13-17 at 1853 from the Detroit distribution center. I ordered it from American Models and they shipped the box out on 12-11-2017. If and when I do get it, I will post photo's and video of the installation.

Thanks for the link to fox valley, I just bought 2 of there NS GP60 with ESU sound in HO.

I guess I won't need to light the number boards.
