I would just like to give a huge shoutout to Gunrunner John and all the help he has given to me over the years. I would also like to give one to Bill at Atlas trains for superior customer care and satisfaction. You all make being in this hobby a lot less frustrating and more enjoyable.

John is always most helpful. If he can't fix it, nobody can.
A Yea Verily from me too
That guy?
I have spent a few ducats on those LED conversion kits!
There are many folks on the forum whose contribution to the hobby is immeasureable, and grj is pretty much at the top IMO. He got me going with DipTrace earlier this year and has rescued me from the depths of frustration several times since then. Now I am completely addicted, and there's no turning back! Way to go John!

Yep, GRJ has kept me from burning up my locomotives and burning down my house. Perhaps he has saved many peoples sanity for repairs they had been trying to do for months only to find John had the simple answer all along.
I've never had the pleasure of meeting him face to face but hope to some day. He is a fine gentleman and has on more than one occasion answered a question or two for me also. I try and read his posts whenever someone has asked him a question or he is answering about something. I have found that I have picked up many little tidbits about different things. The entire Forum is a great knowledge base. Ok Rod Stewart or GRJ, I'll bite, what is Dip Trace and what is it used for?
Gunrunner John,
The YLB Batteries have made running my steam engines enjoyable. There is no longer the drop-out of sound as the tender crosses my Atlas O #5 switches and Double Cross-overs.
I will order more for a few Hudson engines #5416 and #5415 coming soon.
Sincerely, John Rowlen

What are ylb batteries.
YLB - RailSounds Battery Replacement They actually come with two connection options, one for older locomotives that have a battery cable, and one for new Legacy where they've left out the battery cable and use the new RailSounde-Lite board.

Maybe OGR would consider starting an award program for these wonderful people in our hobby. The award ceremony could be held at York in the grand stands. We could have our very own "O"scars with a gold plated loco or box car for the award. I know, keep dreamin. Sounds fun though.
Heck yeah! I would make the trip for that.

I could not agree more. Gunrunner John has been invaluable. Unfortunately John, there will be no holiday bonus and we have to defer your raise for a year. Tough out there. LOL. I look forward to meeting you in person at York.
I agree as well. GR John brought one my friends locomotives back from the dead. He is an invaluable asset to our hobby. I haven’t taken any locomotives to him personally but I wouldn’t hesitate for one second to contact him if I had a problem. Thank you John for all you do.

I'd like the gold plated locomotive, how thick is the gold plating?
Thanks all for the kind words.
GRJ, the "O"scar gold plated Loco will be the top award. The plating will be at a minimum so that the winner doesn't blow their back out while they hold it and give their thank you speech. Sorry. LOL
