Nicole,

You're welcome.  The D&H was a local railroad.  I live along their former Pennsylvania Division.  I've been waiting for Lionel to make these for some time now and I'm glad they finally did.

Fred,

Thank you.  This was just a temporary set up I made to make this video.  I don't have a permanent layout.  I set a "few" trains up for the holidays but couldn't wait that long to make a video of these.  These do sound great, especially at idle.

I too would like to see some pics of the Southern Pacific as well Baltimore and Ohio versions.

I also received a pair of the D&H sharknoses...delivered to the house yesterday. I almost went with the NYC as well but since I have a plethora of that roadname already I opted for the D&H. D&H was local to me when I was a kid and I always liked the blue and silver/gray color scheme...very handsome. Attached are a few close-up shots to highlight some of the detail. They run and sound great...very satisified.  -Len

Those PRR Sharks look great!!!  Thanks for sharing a pic.

Sean, which ones are you getting?

As far as the horn, first a constipated cow and now a sick moose.....  Just kidding.  The different tones of the horn was just me playing with the quilling feature that Legacy has.

I was also curious about the horn, so I watched a few videos on YouTube and then watched the DVDs I have on the D&H. The horn Lionel used is close to the horn used on the D&H Sharks, but isn't exact.  At least to my ears anyway.

There is 3/4" gap between both locomotives when coupled together.  It would be nicer if they did couple closer.  I'm not defending Lionel in anyway, but I can understand them doing this so these would operate on O-36 curves.  It would be nice if Lionel included shorter couplers for those of us that have bigger curves.  I doubt it would cost Lionel very much to do so.

With that being said, the gap between the locomotives is my only complaint about these.  And an optional scale front pilot would also be nice.  Besides the couplers, in my opinion these are nice locomotives and I am enjoying mine very much.

sorry. But I have to say the sound is awesome the looks are beautiful
