Took a break today from wiring details.  Spent the day working on refurbishing the town hall from my old layout.  I'm modeling my layout based on an old mining town in Pennsylvania where my grandfather worked - Coaldale PA.  I'm interested in seeing our members renditions of their town halls so please post a picture for all to see!

Regards,

Paul

You've got that right! The cornice molding at the top of the wall was a real bugger. This was my first attempt to do a mortar wash. Doesn't show up in the pics but it turned out well.

Years ago most of the time my town hall usually had a fire in it.

Then they did not burn.

Then I started using Department 56 Capital as the Town Hall and I usually had a park near it for the town folks to enjoy.

And I also started putting something going on nearby, have was a nightly fireworks display for the people to oh & ah over.

Here below the Town Hall was given more grounds which had 2 operating real water fountains which were lighted from below and would give a different lighting effect. Also included for the visitors was a giant lighted revolving Christmas tree.

As you see above and below the giant walk through gardens are still there for the people to enjoy.

Also on the grounds was a animated group of Christmas carolers singing their hearts out.

Loved your pictures. I forgot about the Capitol Building by D56. I also have it installed on our layout, not far from our City Hall. If you remember, they also did another government related building called the Embassy.

Those are some great buildings.  My wife collects D56 but I believe they are a different style.  I never thought of using them on my layout - they seem to be in somewhat scale.
