May 10th is Golden Spike day.
I don’t have any models of 1860s locomotives; so I did the best That I could.
Here is the reenactment of driving the Golden Spike on my layout.
Let’s see your pictures!

Here's a song about the event.
Since I won't have time to run up there tomorrow, how about a commemoration of Spike 150, the 150th anniversary of the Golden Spike Ceremony? That was a fun day. Can't believe is been 4 years already since we were last up there.

Very nice!
Still looking for layout commemorations.
Today, May 10th, 2023, is the 154th anniversary of the completion of the first transcontinental railroad at Promontory, Utah in 1869. In recognition of this transformative event, I ran an Amtrak consist headed by AEM-7 #924 on my 12’-by-8’ model railroad. Amtrak is the only railroad that has ever provided transcontinental passenger service across the entire United States - from the Atlantic to the Pacific.
My MTH Premier model of Amtrak AEM-7 #924 (20-5505-1, MSRP $329.95) was made in 1999 with PS1. MTH offered several paint schemes on its AEM-7s but, unfortunately, there has not been an O gauge model of its ACS-64 successor. The first of Amtrak’s fifty-four 7,000 horsepower AEM-7s began service in 1980 and the last was retired in 2016.

Today marks the 154th anniversary of the driving of the Golden Spike that completed the first transcontinental railroad with the meeting of locomotives Jupiter (Central Pacific Railroad #60) and Union Pacific Railroad #119 at Promontory, Utah on May 10, 1869. Photos show my MTH Premier model (20-3237-2, MSRP $679.99) of Jupiter that was delivered with PS2 and scale wheels in December 2006.
