I'm a newbie here (about 2 weeks) and have one suggestion and a question.
I suggest that use of signatures be encouraged (at least just first names) so that responding to posts can be more personal.
Question, if I click on my name I see "points" What are these and how are they calculated?

Points have been rendered irrelevant on this forum. No need to discuss or pay attention to them. They are just part of the software. Put them out of your mind, and just have fun.
I guess that is why I could not find anything about them on the forum.

You're welcome John. There was a time many years ago when we had a member ranking system, but it became a source of great consternation for management, and was deactivated to the maximum extent possible.
