Is that engine fired by propane? After riding behind the internal combustion fake steamer at the St. Louis Zoo it is nice to have real steam at the Six Flags.

Yes it is propane fired. It appears to be 3' narrow gauge and pulls a caboose behind the passenger cars. Always seems to be a hit with the kids especially at Holloween and Christmas
Been there but don't remember a train. Has it always been there?.
I might of been involved riding the screaming eagle..
I have been going since the park opened in 1971 and I believe it is the same engine. I live within walking distance so I can hear the engine and the whistle from my porch. Also have UP and BNSF main lines which run right across the road from the park.
Wait, don't you mean Missouri Pacific and Frisco main lines?

You betcha!
We don't like to talk about the UnMissouri Pacific or the Been Nuthin' Since Frisco in these parts. . . .
Worlds of Fun in Kansas City also has a steam train ride. So do Kings Island and Cedar Point. Live steam. Knotts in California has real historic steam trains on one railroad, and a Crown on another. Crown stopped making park trains in 1989.
Silver Dollar City in Branson has several 2' gauge steamers, all in some manner of Frisco livery (as the Frisco Silver Dollar Line). Most are German in origin, but all of them have been to some extent Americanized.
