Scale City Designs?
what era?
American scale models has a set of older tender type trucks.
The era is about the 70's-80's. I wasn't going to mention what they are for but might as well.
I am converting a MTH Hot Metal car from a 16 to a 20 wheeler because I have nothing else to do (not really) just like to have something different, you know how it is we all want to play around and torture ourselves.
Marty. I'll have a look at Scale City Designs but I'm still open for suggestions.
Thanks Roo.

So probably a more modern 6 wheel truck would be more suitable then........
Precision scale had 6 axle HD trucks like this that I bought for another project.
I went to get another different set and they were sold to new owners. I tried dealers but they were out. It was a modern 4 axle truck that I was after that had real ball bearings for better rolling. When I inquired back then, I was told to give them some time to organize and could better respond.
I forgot to get back to them.
Saw they moved in June '18

Joe has already suggested the two sources I can think of. You might ask Bill Davis (American Scale Models). He is on the BIG auction as brassmonger. He lists a lot of trucks under that ID.
Simon
Thank you all.
I forgot I had a Precision Scale catalogue they list a "Heavy Duty 6 wheel truck kit suitable for flat cars and cranes and some tenders" .
I will begin the process of contacting the people mentioned and see what happens. Roo.
I hope you get those trucks, I can't wait to see what you do with them.
Roo Just of subject a bit, have you made any purchases on the bay since the Fed Government hit us with GST 10% presumable, so! not! more like 20% in some cases. Its killing my purchase power. Ive complained to my Federal MP, suggesting it shouldn't apply to second hand items from privet sellers. Or have you found any work arounds. I apologise to everyone not in Australia.
Roo,
Rule 92 is correct, buckeye trucks are the prototypical way to go. There are a ton of em available in o scale. Wiseman offers a nice white metal kit pretty cheap, if you want to do it yourself.

Just quickly NO. I agree it has hit very hard especially books nothing seems to be immune from it. I am still buying items that no way in a million years are the hobby shops here in Perth would ever carry so I am not taking business away from the Australian Retail market which apart from the Govt making a killing on it was what the reason it was brought in. Secondhand items should be exempt it is badly thought out legislation. Roo.
Now back to the six wheel trucks.
I have a set coming (buckeye) and I am going to contact Bill Davis when he gets back from his holidays for another set.
And to all that responded here and offline great bunch of blokes, thank you, thank you, thank you. Roo.
Roo, this is totally unrelated to your post but I just saw your magnificent layout in O Scale Trains magazine! Truly one of the nicest I have ever seen, I love the steel mill. Great to see one of the "regulars" on this site have photos featured in a magazine.
Mike
That's very kind of you Mike.
I haven't seen the article yet due to where I live.
Thank You. Roo.

I won't see it for a few weeks going out in the Bush for a walk check out the Tiger Snakes, when I come back the issue might be waiting for me. Try and get some pictures of the walk and if I'm quick enough a snake. Ha Ha. Roo.
