What is best smoke fluid to use in Lionel Engines. I used to always get whatever my local guy had until about 2 years ago when he had Lionel smoke fluid in the 2 oz. bottles. I got that and my engines seem to smoke a lot better. That is all I have used since. I ask because there is an ad in the OGR current issue for a different kind that I have used in past. I ve replace at least 3 fan driven smoke unit boards but none since using lionel smoke fluid. Im sure there have been discussions on this before , I am new to forum.

Well he's a new guy so he didn't know. I like mega steam. Welcome to the forum Joseph. Nick
I liked the Mega Steam when I was running my trains in conventional. Since I have gone to command control, the pine scented fluid that Lionel offers is working well for me.
The local hobby shop and members here suggested either Lionel or MTH smoke fluid, when I asked the same question a few weeks ago.
I'm a big fan of Mega Steam if you like a good variety of scents. They put out a good amount smoke in my MTH engines.

No need to rehash this topic yet again just two weeks after the identical topic was raised. Here’s a link to an advanced search in which I filled the “contains all these words” box with the words best smoke fluid Lionel .
I use the new Lionel in my "good" engines. The old puffer type Nada is the fluid I use.
