Many people here use Megasteam, myself included. I only use the Nada (unscented) and the Eliminator (removes odors from the smoke unit and helps smoke unit operations). I wouldn't think to use anything else.
And as I've said before, the only thing better than their products is their customer service!
Lionel's new premium works well.
Mega steam is a favorite as well.
I use JTs in every locomotive I have. I have been around a few brands in my years in the hobby and find this the best product ever.
Marty, I have not yet tried the new Lionel.
Lionel Premium, hard to get, but I like it. Fred
Re the Megasteam and Lionel premium: Are we talking for both contemporary and older engines, or ?
I use LP in all my Legacy engines. MS everywhere else.
I use Jt's Megasteam in everything I have. I even use it in my old Lionel pill type locos. Works great and you only need ten drops in the old pill type to make them smoke for quite a while. I run MTH, Legacy, and everything else.
Carl, thank you. I'm gonna have to try it.
I run Mega Steam in various scents all through the Holidays i have tried all the other brands and THe megasteam is the best I have used
While MegaSteam has its passionate devotees on this board, I can't join in the hosannas. MegaSteam Nada is supposed to be odorless, but it's not. Not even close. It drives my asthmatic wife right out of the basement, and I'm not far behind.
Lionel Premium isn't sweet-smelling by any means, but it's far more tolerable than the pungent reek of MegaSteam.

Megasteam! http://www.megasteam.com/
I always suggest Mega Steam Hot Chocolate: the aphrodisiac effects of the chocolate scent help woman get past the creepy feeling they have for a grown man playing with toy trains. Especially after they encounter the huge display at the foot of my bed.

Balshis,
Apparently you don't have a fresh bottle of our NADA. We would like to help, but unfortunately, we don't find any contact information on the forum. Please contact us off forum: jkmegasteam@aol.com
Another with no contact information. Funny how those guys have lots of negative comments.
I use Anormal. It smells like American Flyer second generation fluid.
Too bad nobody can make the scent of the first generation Flyer fluid that came in the maroon gel caps and you find has been mellowing in the old smoke units for decades.
Megasteam here too.. various flavors and several bottles.
I use Mega-Steam in all of my locomotives, although I do keep a couple of bottles of Lionel Premium fluid in reserve. In my experience, Mege-Steam is by far the best product available. The smoke clouds are voluminous, and the range of scents is wonderful.
I see that you have selected two of the strongest scents, so be prepared for your train room to smell like a loco depot. I normally use the Cedar or Hickory scents, as I find these very pleasant, but I have been known to use the 'Diesel Power' when I wish to create an authentic aroma.

Oustanding! The stronger the aroma the better! Being an engineer myself on both oil - fired and diesel powered locomotives really is setting the bar high here but I have confidence in this product!

Jim,
You will not be disappointed with MegaSteam smoke fluid. Great product with outstanding customer support.
I've got an older Williams with a Seuthe smoke unit--would Mega-Steam be the choice for this one?
Scotie
Absolutely. Just put in a few drops to start then adjust the quantity accordingly.
There may be some confusion about MS "Nada"-- I don't think they claim it to be odorless, just unscented. To me it smells like almost every other brand of plain fluid. On the other hand, their scented varieties are pretty good, esp. the hot chocolate.
I just you the MTH smoke...works great--never a problem...
I believe that most of around Forum land use JT's MegaSteam. Great people to deal with and a very reliable product. I like the winter theme scents.
