Smoke oil question | O Gauge Railroading On Line Forum

Hi all,

Regarding smoke oil for Williams/Bachmann engines, I understand I should not use MTH's smoke oil, but what of Lionel's oil and regular lamp kerosene? And are there other alternatives? Thanks in advance.

I've used both MTH and Lionel smoke fluid in Williams locomotives. I really don't recommend it. I picked up some Williams smoke fluid and it performed a lot better. I should say as well as can be expected with the Williams (Seuthe) smoke unit.

Never use lamp oil. I highly recommend MegaSteam smoke fluid for all brand engines.
