i'm reviving my old Lionels and see that my 2-6-2 Prairie loco needs a new smoke unit. Does anyone have one willing to sell or know where to get one. Respond here or txt 610-390-3160

You have to tell us what the number of the engine is.
It's number 675.
I just rebuild em, you can get a kit from hennings for like $9 includes new wadding, and element
I'm with Matt, there's very rarely ever a need to replace a smoke unit. New wick and a new resistor, and they're normally good as new.
Thanks Guys! I did not know kits were available. I will contact Hennings. I can see that the fine wire coil around the wadding is broken in a few places. I'm sure my brother shoved a screwdriver in there when we were kids. Thanks again!
That would certainly do the trick, screwdrivers down the stack are a bad thing!
I don't think that had a resistor, but one would work.
Searching out a ceramic wrapped element, -vs- a resistor, is my choice because I let them go dry too often. The PW units can handle going dry.
I save the old ones to the bad parts bin for a rewrap if/when I come across some ni-chrome wire.
Rebuild kits exist for the pill units as well.
