I picked up last month the PRR Rotary Snow Plow. This little guy needed a good car to pull in tow. What else to use other than the PRR Jet Snow Thrower! It gives some nice sounds and it gives a Snow blowing effect. Check out the short video. Now my jet snow thrower has finally got its mate to run on the layout

Works good... I didn't see any snow.
Answers my operation question.
Except..does it use smoke pellets vs fluid?
Nice
As for smoke material: I didn't think modern era Lionel made anything that uses pellets. I think Lionel last offered smoke pellets in 1973.
It uses smoke fluid. There is a plug you pull off the top of the car to add the fluid. When standing still, you get a very light stream of smoke coming out. Once the car starts to move, it kicks into high and starts pouring the smoke out and the jet sounds ramp up. Underneath the car are two switches. You can turn off the smoke and also turn off the sounds.

Use J.T.'s Megasteam and you'll have a first class blizzard as shown in this YouTube video.
Thanks all. The pile might be styrofoam or pellets, and had me wondering if pellet status had changed. I liked how long they lasted.
Looks like it could blow loose styrofoam or loose flocking around pretty good as well.

I think a jet like that would stir up a flurry of what would become water vapor in the exhaust. I figured it would blow smoke hard at start up then taper off to nothing. But I can see the smoke as fine snow and vapor now too. (oh man that fine stuff means it's ultra COLD on top of it.)
