century+ old former Hoosac Tunnel & Wilmington homebuilt snowplow. GE 80-Ton Centercab 0901, built 1940, was the power.
Here is a link to a video of the plowing operation:

Very nice. Love the engine. Thanks for sharing.
Very nice. Did they do that just for the fun of it? There didn't seem like there was that much snow that required a snow plow to clear the line.
Thanks Lee, That was fun for me... Amazingly an 80 year old engine still sounds strong with a unique snow plow rig clearing the way.....

They have the Eagle flyer coming up in Feb where they run a train up the line looking for Bald Eagles. Betting after tomorrows snow they will need to run the plow again.
Thanks for shooting and posting this! Until now, I never had much of a feel for Lionel's mid-50s version of these great switchers. Think I'll pick one up someday. Loved the steam-sounding horn.
Cool. No pun intended.
Nice video, Lee - thanks for sharing it. 115 years old, and it still does the job, plus it goes together well with the center cab. I was glad to see a blue sky and sunny skies. We don't see too much of that here in upstate NY.
Very nice....still going strong.
Thanks for sharing Lee! I love the vintage equipment !
Yes, indeed. The old GE sounds good. I did not notice any smoke jack on the snowplow, so I presume that they have no heat inside. Brrrrrr!
I wonder what diesel engines are mounted in the 80-Tonner?
