Just purchased a brand new B&P GP-20 30-20090-1 from Aurora Rails.

I didn't have my TIU set up yet but HAD to play with it.

Ran it conventional from my CW-80.

It came on in neutral of course, lighted number boards and headlight on the rear, but no lights on the front

Just got the TIU set up, thanks to Barry and others

Same thing, no headlight or number boards on the front.

Oh, well, it's under warranty.

If - and this is a big if - this engine's shell has spring contacts that conduct power from the chassis to the shell, it's possible that the front springs for the headlight and markers aren't making contact with the pads on the chassis.

This can be either because the engine's shell isn't screwed down sufficiently at the front of the engine or because the spring contacts have ridden up a bit inside the shell.

If you mess with this yourself, be careful not to make matters worse!

If the store where you bought it is local, you might want to have them fiddle with it instead.

Regardless, there's no reason not to first try a Factory Reset:

Menu/Advanced/Reset Engine/Factory Reset

Then, select the engine and press the thumbwheel twice. After it's been Factory Reset you'll need to re-add it to the DCS Remote.

First, Barry always offers sound advice.

2nd, Is it a possibility that the shell is backwards? I've had this happen with several MTH products. Nothing wrong like lights not working, just a backwards shell. The lights were always working just not visible because of the shell being placed the wrong way. I don't know if this is possible on your unit though.
