From it's height and the view from the camera, it doesn't really surprise me that it might have problems with grade crossings, especially those without gates.
My neighbor worked for that company a few years ago. They were running the robots (he was walking with them) in downtown Redwood City and the poor things were having trouble at traffic lights and crosswalks. He tried to convince the bosses to deploy the robots on college and business campuses, where there was a high density of potential customers and there were no road crossings.
He got fired for his trouble, but there could have been some ageism at work, also.
Well so much for technology - those brilliant engineers on that task should have done some more homework.
Can't say enough about mismanagement in many of these engineering firms as they are being headed by dropouts from engineering who later took up business and now feel they can play engineer.
You can tell them till you are blue in the face and they'll still make the worst decision possible and then blame others when the ___________ hits the fan.
Seen it many many times. That's why I've been referring to management as mismanagement since the early 80's.
