Solido 4529 1:43 scale diecast model of a 1950s Chevrolet taxi cab

This 1:43 scale diecast vehicle is a neat model that could be used with O scale model railroads in a 1950s downtown scene.  It is a close replica of a 1950s Chevy taxi cab.  The model has "rubber" tires and a detailed interior.

That basic car came in several variations, including a fire chief car. Here are three of mine, along with a Brooklin '48 woodside Chevy. The brown version of the Solido car seems to be the most common. I also have a dark green one, which IMHO is the best looking. The taxi version is the perfect cab for an early 50's layout. What are the markings on the side of the model in the photos? I can't make out what it says; looks like it might be foreign. My taxi is marked for Detroit, complete with the phone number, WOodward 3-7000. That number is engraved on my memory from constant repetition in radio and TV ads when I was a kid.

Nice models!

The early 50s Chevys are really nice looking models for use on 50s steam era or 50s diesel era layouts.

NOTE:  The lettering on the Solido 4529 model says "TAXI".
