I recently purchased a group of British O gauge tinplate coaches, and need some help identifying exactly what they are. To start there is a very nice Bassett Lowke GWR First Class coach numbered 9174. It has "Bassett Lowke Northampton Make" over the end doors. There is also a 1921 Series 3rd Class-Guard coach that I assume to be Bing for Bassett Lowke, although there is no maker's name visible. The mystery car is, I believe, made by Exley, but again no maker's mark is visible and that's just a guess on my part from looking at similar items on the internet. The Exley corridor coach is a 3rd Class/Guard configuration with a number of 6030. It is 17-1/2 inches in length. Any help confirming or correcting these would be welcome.

John,
you are correct, the first coach is a Bassett Lowke 1931 series GWR coach, the second is a Bing for Bassett Lowke, 1921 series LNWR coach and i believe you are right about the third coach being Exely. Nice group
Roland
John,
That is Exley as far as I can see; they are rarely marked. You can see whether it is Exley by looking at the way the end is connected to the sides. There are small bent pins (with a blop of paint on them) holding things together (see the arrow).

Nice catch John, nothing more to say, Roland and Fred have geaven the right identification. The Basset Lowke coach is less comon than the 1921 serie Bing. Those Exley coaches are very nice models and made great looking passenger trains.
Very best, Daniel

Fred- thank you for your reply. In looking at the underside of my coach, I don't see a pin, but rather a rod that connects the two side sills together. There are a total of four of these rods, one at each end, and two intermediate.

John,
It looks like there is a bent pin at both ends at the top/roof, like on my example (which needs a little paint):
And it looks like the battery boxes at the underside are from wood, if so it is a prewar version. Maybe the prewar version had this rods. I am not an Exley expert.
Here is a picture of the brake-end of my first/brake coach; it does look similar:
