Hi all -
I have Atlas decouplers installed in my my new yard and have an issue where a some rolling stock just does not want to react to the activated decoupler magnet. So far from what i've tested, it's only happening with some of my MTH Premier rolling stock. (Atlas, Railking, Lionel are all doing fine so far).
First, I thought that perhaps i didn't have enough power to the decoupler magnet, so I set up a test track with the decoupler and applied full power.... with only a hint of a reaction from the car. Other cars are unlatching without hesitation at much lower voltage, so I'm concluding that either (a) I need to somehow "loosen" up the coupler or (b) perhaps the black coating on the coupler is somehow insulating it too much.
I'd appreciate advice on how to remedy the situation. Apologies if there's a more appropriate forum.
