While waiting for York to start, here's some crystal-ball data from the US National Weather Service about what to expect weather wise, via its 8-to-14-day outlook  for the period through April 27. There is some confidence among the meteorologists that during meet week this year the weather may be a bit warmer than average for York (yay), and also a bit wetter than average (boo). This is of course only what the jet stream etc predicts, and may be way off by the time we hit the ground in southern PA.

The long term forecast link, so you can check back as we get closer: http://www.cpc.ncep.noaa.gov/p.../predictions/814day/

Some more data on what York averages for late April look like:

Average Daytime temperature: 67 degrees.

Average Nighttime temperature: 42 degrees

On average, 12 days per month in the April/May timeframe see precipitation.

If you personally "don't need a weatherman to know which way the wind blows" etc,. just kindly disregard this message.

To avoid the possibility of rain, CARRY a umbrella with you (leaving it in the car does not work).

Do not believe any weather forecast given more than two hours before it happens.

For the most accurate idea of what the weather is, look out of the window.

My only forecast is for Sunday 4/30: Sunny and warm...in other words, perfect.
