Since I needed something to pull with my New Haven #8 and no one makes anything I decided to make my own. I started with an old beat up Olive 300 series observation i bought to EBay. The attached photos show the progress I've made so far. When it's done I'll post more. I also recently picked up a couple of newer production 327 coach cars that I'll repaint in the MTH New Haven tinplate scheme that they used in O scale. These should look good with my Flyer 4644 when I get it done. Eventually I'll get a couple more of the short 300 series cars to go with the #8 and do them in NH also. I case you haven't guessed I kind of like the NH paint schemes.

Pete,
Your work is fantastic.
beautiful work!
I think this came out pretty good considering what I started with, a beat up Ebay car.
It' looks good behind my New Haven #8. Now I need a coach and a baggage car to complete the train.

Pete, why post your work in the tinplate forum if all you are doing is posting some photos? Just post in the photo part of the forum.
If you are willing to share what paint you used, say so.
I didn't realize it was a requirement to post there. As far as sharing I have shared with anyone who has asked any questions and yes I have received a few asking what paint i used, Rustoleum, how I applied it, Paasche airbrush @40PSI and how I stripped the original paint, EasyOff Oven cleaner. I like to post to show what can be done especially with old, low value items.
Nicely done Pete. Hope you find a baggage car and coach to redo and share with us those results.
Well done!
Peter
Wonderful! Will look even better with two more cars!
