Even though I have a heavy workload with projects I sometimes look at parts of the finished sections of the Railroad and see if they can be improved.

I changed the yard at Valley Forge by removing one freight house and platform and adding a 'piggy" ramp about six inches of track was added on the ramp siding and a backdrop was added a bit of ground cover two blokes having a chat and maybe three bumpers and a trailer sitting idle in the future that's it.

I think it looks neat. Less is more.  Roo.

Thank you all for your interest and kind words.

The yard is now working fine. I have actually made three industries here. The distribution warehouse with a spare track , a Team Track and a Piggyback siding as shown in the photo, the other photo shows where this all fits in with the Railroad. (Excuse the mess on the floor!) Roo.

Thank you all for the kind words.

If anybody is ever visiting Perth please feel welcome to look me up you would be most welcome. I have had visits from overseas O scalers mainly Americans.

I turn 75 years old next month and while I am able to I want to finish the layout and enjoy it in my twilight years.

Doing all the building and scenery myself  takes time the Furnace is almost finished and then I will tackle the foundry which is the last big project, I feel I am on track to finish the layout by late 2019. Roo.

Less is most definitely more - if your foreground structures are limiting your view of the freight cars behind, they can also cause issues if you get a derailed car behind them, for manual uncoupling, and numerous other issues.

So changing your layout as you have, not only improves the composition of the scene from an artistic perspective, it's also an improvement in regards to practicality too!

Well done, it looks wonderful
